“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.”
― Rabindranath Tagore

Rooted in Memphis. Growing for the Future.
At eScape Landscapes, we believe every garden is an act of optimism. Planting a tree, designing a landscape, or reimagining a yard is more than beautification — it’s an investment in Memphis’ future.
Our city has always been shaped by its trees. Oaks that live for centuries, tulip poplars (our Tennessee state tree) that stand tall for generations, bald cypress that can outlast entire neighborhoods. Many of the shade trees we still enjoy today were planted around the time Memphis was founded in 1819. They have cooled our summers, sheltered wildlife, and safeguarded our aquifers for more than a century.
We want to honor that legacy — and continue it.
Our Philosophy
Collaboration: We work with clients, not just for them.
Intention: Every plant is chosen with care — for beauty, resilience, and sustainability.
Place: We prioritize native species because they thrive here, protect water quality, and support pollinators.
Landscapes should evolve over time, just as families and neighborhoods do. That’s why many of our projects are designed in phases, unfolding with the seasons.
Why Canopy Trees Matter
Canopy trees are the backbone of a healthy Memphis landscape. They:
🌳 Provide cooling shade in the Delta heat
🌳 Filter pollution from our air
🌳 Help protect Memphis’ aquifers
🌳 Offer habitat for birds and pollinators
🌳 Define the character of our neighborhoods
When you plant a tree, you’re not just planting for yourself. You’re planting for your children, your neighbors, and the Memphis of 100 years from now.

Our Commitment
We’ve built eScape slowly and deliberately over more than a decade. We’d rather stay small than compromise the values that brought us here: sustainability, collaboration, and respect for both people and place.
Because for us, it’s never just about plants.
